The cutest little fox in the woodland, sets off for a walk, but it’s a very hot day, and Friday needs a drink.
But when he reaches the river, it’s dried up. There’s no water to drink!
Friday finds his woodland friends are there too. What will they do? They must find water. The adults are concerned for their babies and the babies are upset.
But Friday encourages then to stay hopeful, he’s sure the rain will come. And it does. Share their joy when the water returns and the woodland can recover.
The Story Behind The Book
For those of you who live in the south of England, you’ll know where the idea for this story came from. The 2026 extended heatwave caused a drought, and wildfires.
And where did Friday the Fox come from? Well, we have a lot of foxes in West Sussex, UK. A friend has a lovely fox who likes to visit and sleeps under her tree, on Fridays.
